Less Than 1 Percent

Some surprising findings were recently released:

Less than one percent of young adults hold a biblical worldview.

The study, conducted by The Barna Group, found that less than one-half of one percent (0.5%) believing that absolute moral truth exists; the Bible is completely accurate in all of the principles it teaches; Satan is considered to be a real being or force, not merely symbolic; a person cannot earn their way into Heaven by trying to be good or do good works; Jesus Christ lived a sinless life on earth; and God is the all-knowing, all-powerful creator of the world who still rules the universe today. However, these numbers aren’t all that surprising given that only nine percent of all adult Americans have this biblical worldview. Even among self-identified “born again Christians,” only 19 percent have a biblical worldview. What’s more, these numbers have been about the same for over a decade.

  1. How tragic! Please hold while I die a little inside and weep for this sad, sinful world…but praise God that He is faithful to preserve a remnant of His people, even if it is a measly 19% of supposed Christians.
