Well, the eve of leaving for the mission trip/relief project is here. Tomorrow morning, 8 a.m., 11 team members and I will embark on a long journey to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. We’ll get there Sunday evening, work Monday to Friday, and return home the same way, arriving back in Virginia Beach next Sunday.

Something I’ve learned from all the mission trips I’ve been on in the past is something Mission to the World loves to call the attitude of “Semper Gumby” – always flexible. Our team got a taste of that this week, before we even left. We got the news that we won’t be building sheds like last year, but instead will be framing houses, putting up drywall, and shingling rooves. Kind of a change, but we are up for the challenge.

Pray for us – that we will share the love of Christ through our hands, mouths, eyes, and ears. Pray that we will be flexible, loving, diligent, and strong.

I’ll update and post pictures when we return.
